Why did you decide to become a police officer?<br />

To hopefully be able to change the life of<br />

just one person for the better. I believe<br />

that one good deed creates a ripple effect<br />

and it will spread to others.<br />

How long have you been with the department?<br />

I have been with Flora Police Department<br />

for a year and three months.<br />

Tell us about your family.<br />

My parents divorced at an early age.<br />

My mother is a cardiovascular nurse in<br />

Arizona and a horse enthusiast. My father<br />

is a deputy at the Madison County<br />

Sheriff’s Department.<br />

What is the toughest thing you have experienced<br />

in your job?<br />

The toughest part of my job is always<br />

remaining mentally in the game and being<br />

aware of your surroundings.<br />

Share some things you enjoy doing in your<br />

spare time.<br />

I enjoy hunting and fishing and being<br />

outdoors. I also enjoy spending time with<br />

my family and dog.<br />

What are three things on your bucket list?<br />

I have filled one thing on my bucket list<br />

and that is to become a law enforcement<br />

officer. The next goal of mine is to be a<br />

narcotics officer. My next goal, beyond<br />

that, is to be able to travel the world and<br />

experience different cultures.<br />

Who is someone you admire and why?<br />

I admire my father. He has raised me into<br />

the man I am today. He also gives me<br />

goals to chase in law enforcement.<br />

Someday I hope to accomplish what he<br />

has in his career.<br />

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?<br />

I see myself still working in law enforcement<br />

and being a part of a narcotics team.<br />

I also see myself having a house with a<br />

wife and few kids running around.<br />

If you could give one piece of advice to a young<br />

person, what would it be?<br />

My advice to a young person is to have<br />

faith in God and listen to your parents.<br />

Your parents and the Lord will never steer<br />

you wrong.<br />

What is a favorite childhood memory?<br />

My favorite memory is when I was<br />

younger and all our family and friends<br />

would come down to our deer camp in<br />

Rodney, Mississippi, for Thanksgiving<br />

dinner. I always loved it when everyone<br />

would come together and tell stories—<br />

whether it was about hunting or what<br />

they have been up to.<br />

What is the biggest mistake you think young<br />

people make today?<br />

I think the biggest mistake that youth<br />

makes is losing faith in God. A lot of kids<br />

tend to steer to what is popular and what<br />

everyone else is doing or thinking. I<br />

believe if you follow God and listen to<br />

your parents you will achieve your goals.<br />

What is your favorite thing about the<br />

City of Flora?<br />

There are so many good things I could<br />

say about working for the city of Flora.<br />

However, I think my most favorite thing<br />

is when we go through a tragic time or if<br />

someone is in need, everyone is always<br />

there for one another. I have never been<br />

part of a community that comes together<br />

more when someone is in need—and I am<br />

proud to say I am part of that, being here.<br />
