CALYCANTHUS ‘VENUS’
CAROLINA ALLSPICE
This deciduous shrub is a beauty. It is a hybrid that is
the result of a complex breeding programme, which has
bestowed upon it the best features of all its parents. It is a
strong grower and produces its large fragrant magnolia-like
flowers over a long period from early summer. Glossy, midgreen
leaves which turn golden-yellow in autumn. Height:
1.8m (6’).
Pot size 3 Litre. €25 each Code 160/P145
TRACHELOSPERMUM JASMINOIDES
‘STAR OF TOSCANA’
A new elegant scented evergreen climber with rich, dark
green leaves which often turn bronze in winter. The glossy,
dark green foliage of star jasmine forms the perfect backdrop
for its dramatic blooms which perfume the air with an
irresistible, sweet fragrance. Makes a stunning addition to
a patio garden or grown against a sheltered wall for a truly
glamorous display. Height: 6m
Pot size 2 Litre. €18 each Code 160/P146
HYDRANGEA PETIOLARIS MIRANDA’
(anomala subsp. Petiolaris)
Hydrangea anomala subsp. petiolaris ‘Miranda’ is an
eye-catching semi-evergreen climbing hydrangea. It is
slow growing making it ideal for smaller gardens if kept
trimmed. Fragrant white flowers bloom in summer, a centre
cluster of small, airy flowers are surrounded by rings of
larger flat four-pettelled flowers. Large dark green serrated
heart-shaped variegated leaves have golden-yellow irregular
margins which may fade to creamy white in summer.
Mature plants have coppery brown peeling bark in winter
providing extra seasonal interest.
Pot size 2 Litre. €18 each Code 160/P150
DEUTZIA X HYBRIDA
‘STRAWBERRY FIELDS’
A very pretty flowering shrub, that will add late spring and
early summer colour to the border with its pretty clusters of
pink and white star-shaped flowers. These are sought-after
by pollinating insects including bees and have a light scent.
Once established it is quite easy to look after and as it does
not get too big, it can be grown in a large patio pot. Ht 2m
Pot size 2 Litre. €18 each Code 160/P148
JAPANESE PINK
PUSSY WILLOW
Salix gracilistyla
‘Mount Aso’
A recent introduction and it’s no
surprise that this comes from a cut
flower breeder! Exquisitely tactile,
fluffy pink catkins fill the upright
stems of this Japanese Pussy Willow
in late winter – the perfect addition
to winter bouquets and flower arrangements.
It also makes a fine garden
shrub, bringing plenty of texture
to winter borders. The pink catkins
turn to gold as the pollen is revealed
in late spring, and the blue-green
foliage forms a handsome backdrop
for other summer flowering plants. Ht
150cm (5ft).
Pot size 3 Litre. €18 each
Code 160/P151
EXOCHORDA NIAGARA
The Niagara waterfalls are impressive. As is this
new Exochorda racemosa Niagara. In spring,
this plant produces masses of big white flowers.
Compared to the existing Exochorda-varieties this
one stays compact. It will reach a height of 120 cm.
Niagara grows the best in sunny places and a well
drained soil. Excellent grown in the border or in a
big pot on the patio
€15 each Code 160/P121
