Welcome to our spring 2019 bulb and Plant Catalogue, packed full of exciting new bulbs and plants to fill your garden with glorious colour all year. We have added over 40 new varieties to our range, many rare and unusual varieties that are only available from Mr Middleton so early ordering is essential if you don’t wish to be disappointed. Our catalogue contains just a sample of the many exciting varieties we offer, many more are available online but for the very best experience a visit to our shop is a must where you will find over 1,000 varieties of summer flower bulbs. This year we have a packed schedule of events at which we hope to meet as many of our regular customers as well as welcoming new faces. Our Open Days are now a major event in the gardening calendar, this year our Spring Rare Plant and Bulb Day is on February 23th, some of the rarer varieties we will only have as little as 20 plants so the early bird gets the worm. Our Spring Garden Masterclass on March 30th promises to be a great day with truly inspirational speakers. TREE LILIES EVER<br />

Tree Lily Collection<br />

Tree lilies are the breathtaking result of years<br />

of painstaking breeding; these incredible varieties<br />

of Oriental lily can grow as tall as 2.5m<br />

(8ft) in as little as two years. One single Tree<br />

Lily bulb can produce up to thirty 20cm (8”)<br />

trumpet blooms and will take on a shrub-like<br />

appearance over the years. The sturdy stalks<br />

are almost 5cm (2”) thick, so they won’t need<br />

supporting and the foliage remains lush<br />

all season. It couldn’t be easier. Grow them<br />

through shrubs in borders, against walls and<br />

fences, or in large pots for the patio, and let<br />

them look after themselves. Height: 2.5m (8’).<br />

EUCOMIS ALOHA LEIA<br />

Add a tropical touch to your garden with this charming<br />

Pineapple Lily. The blossoms last for weeks in the summer<br />

garden, perfuming the air with the scent of coconut oil.<br />

The lance-shaped green leaves have undulating edges that<br />

pair well with the arching foliage of Ornamental Grasses.<br />

Best grown in pots so you can bring indoors for winter.<br />

RANUNCULUS ‘CAFE AU LAIT’<br />

The Persian buttercup produces peony-type flowers with<br />

many petals up to 5cm across. Perfect for the border and<br />

cutting. ‘Café au Lait’ is a wonderful mixture of picotees in<br />

orange, deep reds and yellows. Very easy to grow, flowering<br />

in early summer and an excellent cut flower.<br />

MAJESTIC HENRI ALSTROEMERIA<br />

Very long flowering with improved cold hardiness.<br />

This Alstroemeria pushes the boundaries of the seasonal<br />

garden by continuously producing lush, colourful blooms<br />

all summer and all autumn long. In fact, you can expect<br />

to be enjoying these pretty flowers for more than five<br />

months! Each bloom is flushed with dark yellow and cinnamon<br />

hues that accent the pink throats. Deadhead spent<br />

flowers regularly for optimal reblooming. An excellent cut<br />

flower, it creates showy bouquets and indoor arrangements.<br />

A true one of a kind! Fluffy white plumes contrast beautifully<br />

with coffee coloured foliage. ‘Cappuccino’ creates<br />

quite a buzz in a patio container thanks to the year-round<br />

attractiveness of its foliage. Excellent in d<strong>amp</strong> shady soils.<br />
