“Cups is really just a place where people can come to fellowship”<br />

From the various flyers taped on the<br />

windows and doors as you enter, to the<br />

creaking floors and winding hallway leading<br />

to the cash register, this coffee shop has its<br />

own unique atmosphere, one that ultimately<br />

plays a big role in why Mississippi College<br />

students love the place so much. It isn’t too<br />

structured, and allows for students to be<br />

creative while getting their work done. Every<br />

table in the building is different, and most of<br />

the chairs, too. The tables are small, but most<br />

are colorful, and perfect for when you’re tired<br />

of those dull library desks. Some students<br />

have their favorite spot or room inside, while<br />

others enjoy sitting outside on the deck under<br />

the big trees.<br />

Mississippi College students can purchase<br />

both hot and cold coffee drinks, or choose<br />

from a full tea menu if they desire. Apple<br />

cider is on the menu during the holidays,<br />

along with a list of other seasonal drinks.<br />

Student cups are also available for a small<br />

fee, which is good for a regular cup of Joe,<br />

with one free refill.<br />

“I love coming to Cups. And the fact that<br />

they offer a discount for college students is<br />

really great,” said Meagan Sherrer, a senior at<br />

MC. “It’s one of my favorite places around<br />

campus. What makes it special for me is the<br />

fact I can just come to Cups when I want to<br />

see my friends and be social, or I can come<br />

here when I need some alone time,” she said.<br />

“This coffee place has meant a lot to me in my<br />

time here at Mississippi College.” Sherrer says<br />

Cups is one of the things she will miss the<br />

most when she graduates.<br />

What makes Cups stand out from other,<br />

more mainstream coffee places in the area,<br />

is that the founders are inspired by art, and<br />
