“Cups is really just a place where people can come to fellowship”
From the various flyers taped on the
windows and doors as you enter, to the
creaking floors and winding hallway leading
to the cash register, this coffee shop has its
own unique atmosphere, one that ultimately
plays a big role in why Mississippi College
students love the place so much. It isn’t too
structured, and allows for students to be
creative while getting their work done. Every
table in the building is different, and most of
the chairs, too. The tables are small, but most
are colorful, and perfect for when you’re tired
of those dull library desks. Some students
have their favorite spot or room inside, while
others enjoy sitting outside on the deck under
the big trees.
Mississippi College students can purchase
both hot and cold coffee drinks, or choose
from a full tea menu if they desire. Apple
cider is on the menu during the holidays,
along with a list of other seasonal drinks.
Student cups are also available for a small
fee, which is good for a regular cup of Joe,
with one free refill.
“I love coming to Cups. And the fact that
they offer a discount for college students is
really great,” said Meagan Sherrer, a senior at
MC. “It’s one of my favorite places around
campus. What makes it special for me is the
fact I can just come to Cups when I want to
see my friends and be social, or I can come
here when I need some alone time,” she said.
“This coffee place has meant a lot to me in my
time here at Mississippi College.” Sherrer says
Cups is one of the things she will miss the
most when she graduates.
What makes Cups stand out from other,
more mainstream coffee places in the area,
is that the founders are inspired by art, and
