Daikin Industries Ltd., a global leading
air conditioning manufacturer with
headquarters in Osaka, Japan, has
adopted the Infortrend EonStor DS storage
family in order to implement the entire suite of
mission-critical business applications such as
ERP, database, VDI, virtualisation, and backup
in their Vietnamese operation.
Daikin is the developer of numerous
refrigerant volume systems and an innovator
in split system air conditioners. It has
operations in Japan, China, Australia, India,
countries in Southeast Asia such as the
Philippines and Vietnam, Europe, North
America, and South America.
Due to continuous business expansion,
Daikin's Vietnam operations started to
experience both impacted performance of
their business applications and insufficient
capacity in their storage system. After a
rigorous selection process, Daikin Vietnam
decided to replace its previous system with
multiple high-performance EonStor DS 3024
units. These storage devices feature highspeed
Fibre Channel (FC) interfaces and
Hybrid Drive technology to combine
SSD/HDD, providing better performance and
high capacity utilisation.
The new setup has three subsystems. The first
subsystem powers up Microsoft Hyper-V
technology for server and desktop
virtualisation, with more than 200 VMs (virtual
machines). The second subsystem runs the
ERP database system that uses Microsoft
Dynamic AX 2012. The third subsystem
supports backup of the company's missioncritical
business application data.
EonStor DS 3000 systems are designed for
all-SSD storage and support large high speed
SSD cache pools. SSD Cache speeds up read
performance for priority data, and boosts
cache pool capacities up to 6.4TB. As many
