Expo provides ‘onestop<br />
shop for families’<br />

Since 2015, the North Shore Camp<br />
Expo has served as the perfect spot for<br />
those seeking information about all things<br />
camp.<br />
“We’ve watched it grow each year in<br />
popularity,” said Heather Warthen, chief<br />
events officer of organizer 22nd Century<br />
Media. “We love being able to offer a<br />
one-stop shop for families that may be<br />
searching for the right camp or opportunity<br />
for their child.”<br />
For the second straight year, the expo<br />
will be held at Northbrook Court, 1515<br />
Lake Cook Road, in the lower level of<br />
Macy’s Court. The fun runs from 10 a.m.-<br />
2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. This event will<br />
offer camps — both day and overnight<br />
from across the Midwest region — a<br />
chance to meet potential camp attendees<br />
and for local businesses to connect with<br />
camping families.<br />
“Attendees will be able to find information<br />
on both day and overnight camps as<br />
well as local businesses that target children<br />
and their families,” Warthen said.<br />
“We wanted everything to be in one central<br />
location this year. We also have a<br />
great variety of camps including sports<br />
and the arts so there is definitely something<br />
for every child.”<br />
The expo is sponsored by Banner Day<br />
Camp and Lake Forest Academy. A free<br />
bag is available for the first 200 Camp<br />
Expo attendees. Free face painting and<br />
balloon animals runs from 10:30 a.m.-<br />
1:30 p.m. There will also be a free photo<br />
booth sponsored by PlayGround Games.<br />
