Saint Mary’s Regional Health System has provided quality
healthcare for the people of the River Valley for over 90 years.
As one of the area’s largest employers, nearly 900 employees are
committed to executing their mission: to bring health to life,
through people caring for people.
SAINT MARY’S REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center is the cornerstone of
Saint Mary’s Regional Health System. Established in the mid-
1920s by local physician Dr. R.L. Smith, the hospital has grown
into a 170-bed, full-service acute care center with more than
100 providers on the medical staff. It is the surrounding area’s
premier healthcare provider.
Situated on an 11-acre campus at 1808 West Main Street, Saint
Mary’s is accredited by the Joint Commission and has multiple
affiliated facilities that undergird the health of the community.
Jim Davidson is the system’s chief executive officer. Other
officers include: Scott Bailey, chief operating officer; Wendell Van
Es, chief financial officer; Carol Gore, chief nursing officer; Tim
Copeland, chief quality officer; and Dr. Vickie Henderson, chief
medical officer.
GROWING TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO CARE
Committed to meeting the growing medical needs of the River
Valley well into the future, Saint Mary’s Regional Health System
has aggressively recruited many family medicine and specialty
physicians, as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners,
especially in the past year.
“Improving accessibility to safe, quality healthcare is an ongoing
goal of Saint Mary’s Regional Health System. As our region
grows, and many individuals and families gain access to coverage,
Saint Mary’s is well positioned to provide better access to more
physicians in more specialties close to home,” said Davidson.
“Our demonstrated commitment to excellence, investments
in evolving technology, and our focus on quality and safety, have
helped us to attract some of the best and brightest medical professionals
in their fields to join our staff,” added Davidson. “We
will continue to build on our foundation of outstanding physicians
and mid-level providers, with ongoing efforts to engage
additional specialists in 2019.”
RESPONSIVE CARDIAC AND
VASCULAR CARE IS HERE
Heart disease kills more people than any other disease and
continues to be the leading cause of deaths in Arkansas. And
during a cardiac event, every second matters. The longer a person
waits for critical treatment such as angioplasty, the more heart
tissue dies. That’s why Saint Mary’s cardiovascular specialists
are committed to consistently delivering rapid-response critical
treatment times that far exceed the national average. Saint Mary’s
is committed to ensuring that 24-hours a day, cardiovascular care
is available to the citizens of the Arkansas River Valley.
Saint Mary’s invested nearly $3 million in life-saving cardiac
and limb-saving catheterization technologies. It boasts two
state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs for diagnostic and
interventional cardiovascular and vascular procedures as well as
a 128-slice CT scanner, among other technologies.
Saint Mary’s has also invested in a team of highly qualified,
board-certified cardiologists. This team includes interventional
cardiologists Dr. Sastry Prayaga (medical director), Dr. Thomas
Reinsvold and Dr. Stephen Dobratz, and invasive cardiologists
Dr. Dai-Yuan Wang, Dr. Shuja Rasool. Together, these physicians
bring an exceptional depth of experience and unsurpassed dedication
to the heart health of the Arkansas River Valley.
