Last but not least, the Lord Jesus Himself<br />

set an example for all of us to follow.<br />

Being the Son of God, Jesus still needed to<br />

be alone with God to pray. There are two<br />

accounts of Jesus spending private time<br />

with God. In Matthew 14:13a “When Jesus<br />

heard what had happened, he withdrew by<br />

boat privately to a solitary place.” And in<br />

verse 23 “After He had dismissed them, he<br />

went up on a mountainside by himself to<br />

pray.”<br />

How then do we pursue God’s presence?<br />

By spending time with God daily in His<br />

presence – praying, worshipping, singing<br />

adoration and praises to the Lord. Our<br />

adoration for God is from our heart and<br />

not from our mind. We gaze upon the<br />

infinite beauty of the Lord and drink from<br />

His ever-flowing River of Life. We focus<br />

on His presence and choose not to be<br />

distracted by anything around us. We<br />

surrender every part of our being to the<br />

Lord – our sins, concerns, fears, anxieties,<br />

burdens, frustrations, anger, etc. We just<br />

bask in His presence and be awed by His<br />

magnificent presence. Let the love of the<br />

Lord overwhelm us and let us allow the<br />

Holy Spirit to touch the inner parts of<br />

our life as He reveals Himself to us in a<br />

personal way.<br />

We must never take for granted the<br />

presence of God. Instead, we must revere<br />

and respect His presence, for God is holy<br />

and awesome.<br />

There isn’t any specific time frame we need<br />

to follow in order to feel God’s presence.<br />

As long as our heart is genuine and hungry,<br />

God Himself will show up! He will quench<br />

your thirst. The more time we spend in<br />

His presence, the more we know God and<br />

feel His presence, and the more we will be<br />

transformed into Christlikeness! Just like<br />

what David says in Psalm 63:1-3, let us too<br />

earnestly pursue the presence of God in our<br />

lifetime!<br />

“You, God, are my God;<br />

earnestly I seek You;<br />

I thirst for You,<br />

my whole being longs<br />

for You,<br />

in a dry and parched<br />

land where there is<br />

no water.<br />

I have seen You in the<br />

sanctuary and beheld<br />

Your power and glory.<br />

Because Your love is<br />

better than life,<br />

my lips will glorify<br />

You.”
