tively, in the 60-meter
hurdles.
“Ross put up a solid
time and Ray had a really
solid race,” Razo said. “It
was good to see.
Colin Stapleton, Michael
Barber, Alexander
Kistinger and Josh Scholl
(8:49.34) took fourth for
the Porters in the 4x800,
while Stapleton, Barber,
Brendan Diamond and
Devan Callahan (3:44.54)
were fourth in the 4x400.
Razo said he mixed up
his lineup to test his team.
“We didn’t run everybody
in their main events,
and guys still put up good
times,” Razo said. “It’s
good to develop the kids
for the long run, they can’t
be running the same events
over and over. It teaches
them to push themselves
and be uncomfortable in
different situations.”
Razo is looking for the
Porters to make big strides
in the outdoor season.
“This is a springboard
into outdoors,” he said.
“It’s a long season. Hopefully
we can keep building,
get some more speed
and be ready to take the
next step.”
The Griffins’ Jenna Couwenhoven (left) and Ashley Mills finished third and second,
respectively, in the 1,600 meters.
