Latin Parish of St. Saviour,<br />
Jerusalem<br />
The Latin Parish of Jerusalem – St. Savior<br />
Church in Jerusalem is responsible for<br />
providing religious service and pastoral<br />
support for the Catholic community of<br />
Jerusalem. A generous donation from CNEWA<br />
in the amount of $10,000 was provided to the<br />
parish priest of the Latin Parish ‐ Jerusalem,<br />
to support the youth pastoral program of the<br />
parish. The youth program leads pastoral<br />
activities that help the young faithful practice<br />
Christian values and strengthen their faith<br />
as individuals, and within the community.<br />
With the grant, Fr. Nerwan Al‐Banna was able<br />
to arrange several religious trips to the holy<br />
sites, which helped the children understand<br />
and witness the history of Christianity in the<br />
Holy Land. The funds covered transportation<br />
costs, materials and supplies for the trips. The<br />
grant also helped other pastoral activities of<br />
the parish including its youth choir program<br />
where a new organ and CD player were<br />
purchased as well as a computer and printer<br />
for children’s religious activities, benefiting<br />
200 children.<br />
Additionally, $5,000 of the grant also supported<br />
the pastoral/leadership activities and work of<br />
the Focolare Movement in Jerusalem, covering<br />
the costs of religious trips to holy sites around<br />
the country (Ein Karem, Bethlehem, Jerusalem<br />
and Nazareth).<br />
