Milk the Moment has already teamed up with<br />
several of Birmingham’s favorite restaurants to help<br />
you stay in the moment. In the near future, El Barrio,<br />
Cantina Tortilla Grill, Brennan’s Irish Pub, Eugene’s,<br />
Hot Chicken, and even Chick-Fil-A in Hoover, will offer<br />
incentives if you put down the phone in favor of<br />
connecting with loved ones over a meal.<br />
Here’s how it works: You download the app, activate<br />
it once you enter a restaurant ... and then leave your<br />
phone alone! As the minutes tick by, you accrue points<br />
that earn you special rewards—anything from a free<br />
dessert to a drink discount.<br />
At some point, the program will also offer other<br />
goodies, such as discounts or gift certificates for movie<br />
theater and live entertainment venues in exchange for<br />
being “cell phone considerate” at those places.<br />
