10 Questions
with Tatum Rudman
Rudman is a senior midfielder
on the Highland
Park girls lacrosse team.
How did you get
started playing
lacrosse?
I played a lot of sports
when I was little. My
older sister started to play
lacrosse at high school.
When I was in seventh
grade, I started to play in
an IGLA league with my
friends, I realized I was
good with it and I picked
it up fast. I started playing
all throughout high school.
What is your favorite
part about playing
lacrosse?
I like how it’s a team
sport, I played tennis for a
while and you’re by yourself
playing. I like how
you’re with a lot of people
and you can make passes.
What’s the most
challenging part of
playing lacrosse?
It’s not as popular as a
sport, so we don’t have a
lot of feeder programs, and
our conference is really
good so it’s hard because
we’re playing against girls
that have been playing all
year long. I usually just
pick up my stick a few
weeks before the season.
We have really hard competition.
What’s the best
coaching advice you’ve
ever gotten?
Keep shooting. Even if
you miss a bunch of times,
you can’t get in your head.
If you could play
another sport besides
lacrosse, what would
it be?
Maybe track, because I
like to run and I think I’d
be good at that if I ever did
that.
What’s something on
your bucket list?
My sister went skydiving,
so I’d want to do
something like that.
If you could travel
anywhere in the
world, where would
you go?
I want to go to Africa on
a safari.

Who is your favorite
athlete?
Probably LeBron James,
he’s a good person and
he’s a great athlete, he’s
very entertaining to watch
If you could have any
superpower, what
would it be?
It would be to fly so I
can get anywhere I want
to be.
What are your plans
for college?
I’m going to Indiana
University. I wanted to
do business, they have a
good business school, and
both of my older sisters go
there, so I’ve been visitng
all the time and I love it.
