What is one essential you must have when studying? When I study, I must have some sort of music playing for me to fully concentrate. What do you like to do when not in school or studying? Photo Submitted When I’m not in school or studying, I love drawing. I usually draw human eyes or people. I also really like to write. What is your dream job? My dream job is to be either an animator and/or an author. What are some of your most played songs in your iPod? Some of my most played songs are, “Death of a Bachelor” by Panic! at the Disco, “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes, “Let me Down Slowly” by Alec Benjamin and “I Write Sins not Tragedies” by Panic! at the Disco. What is one thing people don’t know about you? One thing people don’t know about me is that I like to write short stories. Whom do you look up to and why? I look up to my dad because being a single parent for two girls must be difficult. He does everything for me and works really hard for my sister and I. Another person I look up to is Debbie Schenk. She always treats me like her own daughter and makes me feel special. She’s always there for me when I need help and she lets me know she’ll always be one call away. What do you keep under you bed and why? Under my bed I keep my books and other things that I don’t use anymore. Who is your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher is Mrs. Soulian. She teaches everything well and makes boring things fun, but can be strict when needed. What’s your favorite class and why? My favorite class is art because everyone has freedom to work on whatever they want. We can take our time without work and talk to our friends. What’s one thing that stands out about your school? One thing that stands out about my school is the fact that it’s so small and we don’t have that big of a band or sports teams but we still do our best to give our school a good reputation. What extracurricular(s) do you wish your school had? I wish my school had a soccer team. What’s your morning routine? First thing I do is wake up at 6:45, then I get dressed, eat breakfast, make my lunch, brush my teeth, then leave for band at 7:20 a.m. If you could change one thing about school what would it be? If I could change one thing about my school it would be to have boys and girls together in P.E. again. What’s your favorite thing to eat in the cafeteria. My favorite thing to eat in the cafeteria is tater tots. What’s your best memory from school? My best memory from school is when I met my best friend Emily in third grade, and when I met my other best friend Kaitlyn in first grade. Standout Student is a feature for The Lockport Legend. Nominations come from Lockport area schools. Rotary Club honors LTHS Top 10 percent Submitted by Lockport Township High School On April 10, the Lockport Rotary Club hosted members of the Lockport Township High School Class of 2019 and their families for the 64th Annual Top 10 Percent Dinner at DiNolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen. The dinner was in honor of 117 students who ranked in the Top ten percent of their graduating class. Rotary member Rick Thiernau was the guest speaker for the evening. Thiernau shared his encouraging philosophy with the audience: “Find your passion.
