On April
15, the Lockport
Township
High School
District 205
Board of Education
named Greenan
John Greenan
the new principal of East
Campus.
Greenan is the vice principal
at present and is to
replace Principal Dennis
Hicks when he retires at
the end of the school year.
Greenan is a 17-year
veteran of the district and
he said it is an honor to be
named principal.
“I am honored and humbled
to have this opportunity
to be part of the leadership
team and to be the
East Campus principal,”
Greenan said.
Greenan started with the
district out of college and
was first hired as a social
studies teacher and basketball
coach. Since then,
he has worked at both the
Central Campus and the
East Campus.

“Throughout my 17
years, I’ve been able to see
the reason why so many
people have great pride
in the school district,” he
said.
Greenan said he does
not foresee any specific
challenges or needs for the
school that he will address
as principal aside from
those needs common to
all schools, namely public
safety and social media
education.
“The challenge of providing
a climate of school
safety and culture is vital,”
he said. “We need to continue
to promote the fact
that we have a safe school
and that we have people
here ready and willing to
foster creativity, it can be a
cooperative space.”

Greenan was selected in
part by incoming superintendent
Robert McBride
and, in a media statement,
McBride praised Greenan’s
history with the district.
“Dr. Greenan is an excellent
selection as principal
of the East Campus
because he is both present
and has presence,” Mc-
Bride said in the statement.
“He has the knowledge
and experience to lead the
campus, and he also has
the demeanor, confidence,
and connection with students,
staff, and parents
necessary in the principal
role.
“At each stage in the
many stages of the selection
process, Dr. Greenan
excelled, impressing interviewers
with his knowledge
of instruction, school
operations, campus safety,
and vision for the future.
He conveyed a true sense
of servant leadership combined
with a clear sense of
direction.”
