Tzofim Friendship Caravan to perform free concert at the JCC July 31
The Tzofim Friendship Caravan will, once
again, be stopping in Central New York for
shows this summer to celebrate 100 years
of scouting with their theme “100 years of
connection.”
The Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community
Center of Syracuse will showcase the
Tzofim Friendship Caravan in a
free community-wide concert on
Wednesday, July 31 at 7 p.m.
The Caravan members will
spend their entire day at the
JCC. They will teach the JCC’s
day campers about Israel
through activities, games and
educational programming. And
Caravan members will perform
a private hour-long show for the
campers. Caravan members will
also interact with the seniors
during the JCC’s senior lunch
program where they will sing
songs for them.
The two other CNY
performances scheduled for the
Caravan are:
• Tuesday, July 30, 7 p.m.
Utica Jewish Community
Federation of the Mohawk
Valley
• Thursday, August 1, 7 p.m.
Binghamton Jewish
Community Center
All shows are free and open to the
public. There are three Caravans that
will crisscross America this summer and
all will be named after famous Israeli
musicians. The first Caravan came to the
United States in 1973. In 1985, the first
Caravan performed in Syracuse.
The Caravan aims high and wants to
work toward a better society so that there
is a strong connection between the people
Seniors: Does your health insurance plan include a gym membership?
Each teen brings his or her life
experiences to this entertaining show.
Their stage show is filled with enthusiasm
that is palpable and contagious. The show
cultures, heritage and landmarks.
After the show, Caravan
New York State Council on
the Arts (NYSCA), through
its decentralization initiative
administrated locally by CNY
Arts. Organizers would like to
