Car Show at Ed Dena’s – September 7 - Members are again strongly encouraged to participate to show support for Ed Dena and Valley Childrens Hospital, a charitable cause. Mike Lebda diplomatically reminded members of a fee deadline for a run they signed up for. Charlotte Renna expressed importance of members’ participation on runs they commit to, members’ obligation to inform run leaders should they need to cancel, and cost commitments by run sponsors. As a follow-up to recently held runs, Mike asked each run leader to reflect on the highlights for members’ enjoyment. Debbie Garrison described the April 3-7, Laughlin run that included a Jet Boat ride up the Colorado River to Lake Havasu and the London Bridge, and all it’s beautiful scenery along the way, a corvette ride to Oatman, AZ, where donkeys roam freely, travels on historic route 66 to Kingman, AZ, lunch at Mister D’s 50s diner and Route 66 museum visit, a dinner cruise, and gambling. It was so much fun, and lots of memories made. Jeff and Stephanie Engleman’s March 24, brunch run to Chukchansi Casino, Oakhurst, was a success. Not only did participants have a large selection of delectable buffet items to enjoy; some tested their luck, going home with a little extra cash in their pockets; and perhaps, some leaving with slightly empty pockets too but knowing it was good food, great company, and a wonderful day for a corvette run. Old Business: Dick confirmed that bylaws have been updated as voted on. Each member should have received an email with the updated bylaws. Members to let Dick know if they did not receive email. Dick reminded members to write checks out to Central Valley Corvette per bank request. Dick asked Andy Anderson, Parliamentarian, for information or comments. Andy had no comments at this time. New Business: Dick informed members who may need CB equipment, installed or fixed, of a business in Fresno called Dynamite Car Audio. He recommended Dynamite Car Audio based on their knowledge and quality workmanship. Business cards were available. Dick opened floor for additional new business discussion. No new business was offered. Sunshine and Clouds: Linda Laningham wondered the room, visiting each table so members can update club on life happenings and events. Lots of information was shared. Linda wished everyone a happy and safe Easter, keeping all those that have passed deep within our hearts. Sergeant-of-Arms: Chuck Laningham collected $2.50 in badge fines although some interesting negotiating and haggling took place. Next General Meeting: To be held at Yosemite Falls Café, May 21, 2019, at 6:30 PM. Next Board Meeting: April postponed. Will readjourn in May. Dear CVC Members, It seems that Spring has sprung and Summer is insisting that she be recognized. At least we enjoyed some really nice weather during the Spring part. There are fun things coming this month and I hope you will sign up and enjoy each other on the upcoming events. Movies, food, fun and good company…something you could talk about with neighbors and people you meet who have Corvettes and enjoy going places in them. Who knows, you could be talking to a prospective new member! I encourage you to try! Ruthie Danielsen, V.P. Public Relations & Membership
