AN alleged drunk
driver who attempted
to flee from police
in Huntleys
Point on Sunday has
been captured and
charged.
Police allege the 36
year old Erskineville
man was asked to pull
over at a stationary
random breath testing
on Victoria Rd around
10.30pm but drove
away.
“Police activated
all warning devices
and followed the motor
vehicle until the
intersection of Victoria
Road crossing
Westbourne Street,
Drummoyne where
the vehicle eventually
stopped.”
“Police officers
then approached the
driver’s side window
of the motor vehicle
and asked the driver
to produce his current
drivers’ licence.
“At this time police
officers immediately
noticed that his
speech was slurred,
and he smelt strongly
of intoxicating liquor.”
He returned a positive
reading was taken
to Ryde Police Station
where he returned a
reading of 0.164.
His licence was suspended
by police and
he is due to appear in
