Located in the north west of England, Cheshire is the jam filling in a sandwich
of neighbouring major cities Manchester & Liverpool, a jam filling that is
bursting with a rich and varied landscape of food stories, producers, retailers
and experiences. The county is easily accessible by road, rail, bus, coach and
even by air, and it’s just as easy getting around when you arrive…
By Road
The M6 motorway, linking the north and south of the UK, runs directly through
the county. Other major routes into and through Cheshire include the M56 and
M53. Having a car (or even hiring a car) is certainly handy (but not essential)
when exploring the nooks and crannies featured in this guide!
By Rail
There are several rail networks operating speedy, frequent and direct services
into and around Cheshire, and stations at even the most rural of
locations. Plus, train travel is a great way to sit back, relax
and take in the stunning Cheshire countryside!
Thanks to Virgin Trains, getting from London to Cheshire
takes just 90 minutes with regular services to/from Crewe,
Chester, Wilmslow, Macclesfield & Warrington.

By Bus & Coach
Cheshire is well-served by a comprehensive bus network. Arriva is the
dominant bus operator in the area with others including Stagecoach and
Warringtons Own Buses.

National Express Coaches arrive into Cheshire via Chester Bus Interchange.

By Air

Airport, both of which are on the border of Cheshire and just a short journey by
car (approx. 30-45 minutes), coach or train to Chester city centre (Manchester –
