PROMPT CORNER
This year’s May Play
By the time that you read this, our May Play, the novel
thriller, The Final Twist, has finished its run, and been consigned to our
history of successful and much appreciated plays. It was a classic thriller
packed with intrigue, humour and an ingenious plot, which our
audiences really enjoyed right up to the dramatic climax, with its
“final twist”!
Autumn Play
Our September production this year will be Clerical Errors, a comedy
by Georgina Reid, and is about a family of vagrants that has taken over
a small disused Methodist Chapel, much to the concern of the
parishioners, who call in a Social Worker to deal with them. The play
examines a number of social issues, particularly homelessness, and
looks at this serious issue sympathetically and with wry humour. It gives
the Minister and his parishioners, as well as all of us, many soulsearching
questions. It will be directed by Sally Reynolds and will
be staged from Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th September at
7.30 p.m. at the Village Hall. You can book on the box office number

This autumn we will also be holding a
40 th Anniversary Adult Revue at the Hall.
It will be on Saturday 19 th October at the Village Hall, at 7.30 pm.
Tables of up to eight people.

This Revue will be supporting our Charity of the year,
the Marie Curie Cancer Support,
and Macmillan Cancer Support
both of which provided nursing care and support
for Scott and Janette Steele,
friends and fellow Playhouse members, during Scott’s last weeks.
