Moocooboolah Joeys Meet<br />
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie<br />
IF you’ve never heard of May Gibbs, ask a Moocooboolah Joey Scout.<br />
<strong>The</strong>y are well-informed following a recent visit to May Gibbs Cottage at Neutral Bay.<br />
Undaunted by wind and rain, seven Joey Mobs travelled by Rivercat, train and ferry<br />
to Nutcote - the former home of May Gibbs - one of Australia’s most celebrated children’s<br />
authors and illustrators.<br />
Joeys, parents and leaders were treated to a guided tour of the historic cottage<br />
where they saw period furnishings, memorabilia and original sketches and stories<br />
from May Gibbs’ collected works.<br />
<strong>The</strong> highlights of the day were the dress-up room and the scavenger hunt.<br />
Although they did not get to ride on the ferry named May Gibbs, the Joey Mobs had<br />
lots of fun on the journey, especially when the ferry rocked in the waves.<br />
