The 2019 StyleFestPH kicked off last
24 June with the search for aspiring
young designer-entrepreneurs who will
take part in the Designer Mentorship
Program (DMP).

Lifestyle, said this year’s StyleFestPH will
give Filipinos a full fashion experience
by starting with the DMP, a design and
entrepreneurial program that aims to
help create business opportunities for
aspiring young designers.
“We want to teach participants about
creative direction and business know-how
in order to succeed, using digital platform
opportunities and the help of retail
industry experts who can assist and
mentor aspiring designers with their
design skills and how to go to market
through the DMP,” De Guzman said.

with a mission,” dispelled
beauty myths and gave
insights on how to properly
apply cosmetics as well as

gave tips for people who have skin
sensitivity and allergies.
Afterwards, through makeup
demonstrations and beauty
consultations, beauty
enthusiasts were given a chance
to swatch and get a feel of the
formulas at the beauty bar.

Participants will be mentored and
their works will be judged by a panel
of experts called the “stylecouncil,”
composed of renowned local fashion
icons and retail experts such as Inno
Sotto; Paulo Campos, CEO of Zalora; Leah
de Guzman, Globe Lifestyle head; and
upcoming young designer Carl Jan Cruz.
The nationwide search is open to
Filipinos 18 years old and above, either
students or owners of their fashion
design business.

Together with their completed application
form, applicants should be able to present
a design portfolio composed of at least
10 items that focuses on two categories:
Streetwear, which integrates fashion
and technology, and Ready-To-Wear,
either for day or night wear. Judging of
the StyleFestPH winners will happen
during the finalists’ fashion show on
5 November 2019, with the winners
announced at the end of the show.
Prizes include P50,000 cash prize for the
winners of 0917 Lifestyle and Zalora brands
plus mentoring from the stylecouncil and
presentation of their Capsule Collection in
the StyleFestPH runway. The winners will
also have the opportunity to collaborate
with 0917 Lifestyle and Zalora for their
collections.
