This report details the media exposure provided by professional angler <strong>Ott</strong> <strong>DeFoe</strong> from 10/1/18 –<br />

6/30/19. We tracked <strong>Ott</strong>’s exposure through television, internet, social media, internet video,<br />

live streaming, national magazine, and in-person.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> won the 49th Annual Bassmaster Classic in March on Ft. Loudon Lake in Knoxville, TN.<br />

<strong>Ott</strong> made the transition to Major League Fishing’s Bass Pro Tour during the period. He competed in<br />

seven events during the period. The Bass Pro Tour events are streamed on the Major League<br />

Fishing website (MLF Now) and will air on television in Q4 of <strong>2019</strong> on the Discovery Channel and<br />

the Outdoor Channel.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> was featured on-air in broadcast television for over 47 hours during the period. Season two<br />

of his show on Outdoor Channel The Hunt for Monster Bass began airing in February and finished in<br />

<strong>Q2</strong>. Season one re-aired extensively on World Fishing Network during the period. <strong>DeFoe</strong> was also<br />

again part of The Bass Pros on Outdoor Channel. General Tire featured <strong>DeFoe</strong> in two new<br />

commercials which began airing during the period on Outdoor Channel and CBS. <strong>Ott</strong> was featured<br />

in the coverage of the Bassmasters television show on ESPN2 for the Bassmaster Classic as well as<br />

the Winning Ways episode focusing on his Classic victory. He was also part of two Major League<br />

Fishing episodes for the <strong>2019</strong> Challenge Cup.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> was featured in 674 internet articles/photo galleries and blogs, including USA Today, Fox<br />

News, The Bleacher <strong>Report</strong>, Outdoor Life, MSN, and several local news stations for the Classic<br />

victory.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> was featured in 123 internet videos during period including Bass Pro Shops’ website,<br />

Bassmaster, You Tube, Bass Fan, Wired2Fish and local Knoxville and Chattanooga news sites.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> was live-streamed on the Major League Fishing and Bassmaster sites (and their apps) on 40<br />

different occasions, including his run to the Championships Rounds in the Bass Pro Tour events in<br />

Raleigh, NC and Branson, MO as well as all three days of the Bassmaster Classic. He is also<br />

included in a new commercial for Lithium Pros.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> was on the cover of Bassmaster and BASS Times during the period. He appeared in three<br />

full-page ads in those publications too. He was featured in four print articles during the period.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong> made appearances in Springfield, MO, Knoxville, TN, Kingsport, TN, Orlando, FL, and<br />

Strawberry Plains, TN during the period.<br />

<strong>DeFoe</strong>’s Facebook page grew 25.6% from 50,767 to 63,773 Likes during the period. <strong>DeFoe</strong>’s total<br />

reach per Facebook Insights for the period was 9,673,713. His Facebook page is 100% organic.<br />

Twitter followers (@<strong>Ott</strong><strong>DeFoe</strong>) increased 9.5& from 23,649 to 25,901 and Instagram followers<br />

(@<strong>Ott</strong><strong>DeFoe</strong>) jumped 78.4% from 46,750 to 83,420. The page reached 6,864,200.<br />

Photographic evidence of all media exposures are included in this report. <strong>Ott</strong> <strong>DeFoe</strong>’s name<br />

appears in numerous articles, tournament listings and stories that were excluded from this<br />

summary unless a sponsor name or product reference was included in the story. It should be noted<br />

that consumers associate companies with <strong>Ott</strong> <strong>DeFoe</strong>’s brand and thus an intangible value is<br />

created even when only his name appears in the media.
