Bringing the Outside In
The outside world is filled with wonder and excitement, and bringing a
small part of that wonder into the classroom greatly enhances a child’s
ability to learn. Growing an herb garden is a natural addition to an early
childhood classroom that teaches students about plant life, sustainable
ecosystems and personal responsibility. Plant pockets present an
opportunity to create an interactive communal area for children to
work together, learn and even taste the herbs they are nurturing. The
wide, breathable panels allow the soil to aerate naturally while easily
containing the right amount of water to keep plants thriving.
