JCC now accepts RenewActive gym membership<br />

program<br />

The JCC of Syracuse has started offering<br />

local seniors yet another option for<br />

working out at little or no cost. The<br />

JCC’s Neulander Family Sports & Fitness<br />

Center recently became a RenewActive<br />

by UnitedHealthcare participating gym.<br />

The program is<br />

available with select<br />

UnitedHealthcare<br />

Medicare Advantage<br />

plans. It offers<br />

seniors a gym membership with the JCC<br />

as an insurance benefit, usually at no<br />

additional cost.<br />

RenewActive is a new plan that<br />

has replaced the UnitedHealthcare<br />

Optum program. RenewActive by<br />

One-on-One Personal Training<br />

As low as $27 per half-hour. Stop by the<br />

Fitness desk for details and to set up a time.<br />

are similar to RenewActive and offered<br />

through other<br />

health insurance<br />

companies.<br />

We offer over 50 group exercise classes a<br />

week that are tailored to people of all ages and<br />

designed to meet a variety of fitness needs.<br />

• All classes are free for Fitness members<br />

(except Tap Dance and Ballroom Dance).<br />

• $10 per class for non-Fitness members.<br />

• TRX: $15/class for non-Fitness members.<br />

FAMILY GYM<br />

Ages: 3 and up<br />

Day: Sundays (starts up again Sept. 15)<br />

Time: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm<br />

Fee: Free for all JCC members<br />

Non-members – $5 per child,<br />

$10 per family maximum<br />

Parents and their children will get moving and<br />

enjoy a variety of structured and unstructured<br />

play with our obstacle courses, floor mats,<br />

inflatable tumbling run and other fun activities.<br />

Parents should be prepared to participate with<br />

their children.<br />

Nutritional Counseling<br />

Consult with JCC Sport & Fitness Director<br />

Patrick Scott to develop a healthy nutrition program.<br />

With a master’s degree in applied clinical<br />

nutrition, Patrick can help review and recommend<br />

specific foods to promote healthy living.<br />
