DAY 3: AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK Just two hours by car from Kigali, Akagera is home to one of Africa’s largest hippo populations and is a delight for keen birders. DAY 4: AKAGERA Explore this park by 4x4, boat, or on foot. DAY 5: AKAGERA – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK Today, it’s back to Kigali for lunch, then journey by car to Volcanoes National Park. DAY 6: VOLCANOES After hiking through the dense forest with a tracker, spend a rewarding hour observing a family of mountain gorilla. SANCTUARY GORILLA FOREST CAMP DAY 7: VOLCANOES Today enjoy a forest walk to seek out a group of playful golden monkey, or embark on a second gorilla trek (at additional cost). DAY 8: VOLCANOES - NYUNGWE FOREST This fascinating cross-country drive pauses in the city of Kibuye, before continuing on to Nyungwe Forest. DAY 9: NYUNGWE FOREST With an expert tracker, trek to see chimpanzee, then enjoy a canopy walk. DAY 10: DEPART KIGALI Drive back to Kigale via Butare and Nyanza Royal Palace.
