The First-Year Competition is a great place<br />
to start, but feel free to participate in other<br />
moots internal and external. Mooting is not<br />
always serious, as we have many socials<br />
throughout the year e.g. Staff v <strong>Student</strong><br />
Moot, Christmas Dinner and more!<br />
Muslim <strong>Student</strong> Association<br />
(AUMSA)<br />
AUMSA was founded to serve the needs of<br />
Muslim students and staff, as well as those<br />
looking to engage with Muslims. It aims to<br />
foster bonds of fraternity by establishing a<br />
Muslim student community. As a networking<br />
platform, we intend to suit students of all<br />
shades of observance. We also strive<br />
to encourage, promote and strengthen<br />
harmony and understanding between<br />
peoples of all faiths.<br />
nNerdverse<br />
We watch a variety of sci-fi and fantasy<br />
related media, ranging from cult classics to<br />
B-movies, with the occasional outing to see<br />
a new release. We also hold special monthly<br />
events.<br />
Nordic Society<br />
Nordic Society exists for all Nordic and<br />
non-Nordic students interested in celebrating<br />
Nordic holidays and cultural traditions! Our<br />
annual highlights are First of May/Vappu/<br />
Valborg, Finnish Independence Day and<br />
of course, our popular “Sittning/Sitsit”.<br />
Alongside our more popular events, we also<br />
organise karaoke nights, Advent parties,<br />
Lucia and much more. The society is a great<br />
way to be acquainted with students from,<br />
or outwith the Nordic countries. So whether<br />
Nordic or not, what are you waiting for?!<br />
Membership is only £3 for the whole year!<br />

oOpera Society<br />
The UoA Opera Society has been offering<br />
students the chance to perform in a wide<br />
range of operas and operatic works over<br />
the last number of years, in both university<br />
owned venues as well as local theatres<br />
around Aberdeen. It celebrates a history<br />
of successful productions including Bizet’s<br />
‘Carmen’, Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’,<br />
Sondheim’s ‘Sweeney Todd - The Demon<br />
Barber of Fleet Street’ and most recently<br />
Kurt Weill’s ‘The Threepenny Opera’! The<br />
society continues to provide these wonderful<br />
opportunities and is open for all students to<br />
audition and take part in.<br />
pPakistan Society<br />
Our Society aims to provide a platform<br />
for student body to socialise, connect and<br />
celebrate various Pakistani cultural events<br />
and traditions. Additionally, the society<br />
