Spoonin’: A Showcase of Handcrafted<br />
Spoons will open at<br />
Grovewood Gallery in Asheville<br />
on Saturday, <strong>September</strong> 14, with a<br />
reception from 2-5pm (free and open<br />
to the public).<br />
This group exhibition will include<br />
both functional and sculptural works<br />
which takes place October 4 - 13.<br />
To highlight this special occasion,<br />
the gallery will host spoon-making<br />
demonstrations on October 5 and<br />
12 from 11am-4pm with Asheville<br />
artist Aaron Iaquinto. Aaron, a fine<br />
woodworker at The Old Wood Co<br />
in the River Arts District, will talk<br />
Handcrafted wooden spoon by Asheville artist Aaron Iaquinto<br />
from 18 notable artists from across<br />
the country, whose mediums range<br />
from wood to sterling silver and<br />
copper. Spoonin’ will remain on view<br />
about the different stages in his<br />
spoon-making process and demonstrate<br />
how he creates the handles<br />
and bowls for his spoons. He will<br />
also show metal inlay techniques for<br />

Grovewood Gallery’s exhibition of<br />

American Craft Week, the country’s<br />
largest celebration of American craft,<br />
