Drawing from the past and geared up for the future, a revamped and relocated studio will<br />

give a new kick to exceptional craftsmanship currently in danger of being lost forever.<br />

project visionary<br />

• Has worked on his craft for the<br />

past 30 years, first in Italy and<br />

then in France<br />

• Is a sought-after master weaver<br />

of silk, gold, silver; velvet,<br />

brocade and lampas for drapes,<br />

upholstery & haute couture<br />

Brocade & damask loom.


The studio will become<br />

the European Centre of Excellence<br />

for traditional silk-weaving,<br />

with 40 to 50 Jacquard looms continuing to<br />

produce:<br />

• exclusive modern creations<br />

• historic replicas for museums, collectors<br />

and palaces<br />

• life-style accessories<br />

Verification on the taffetas loom.


As an<br />

international training centre,<br />

it will offer, attract and generate funding and<br />

income from a portfolio of activities,<br />

including:<br />

• partnerships with educational & training<br />

textile centres world-wide<br />

• open atelier/studio<br />

• master classes<br />

• “rent-a-loom”<br />

international knowledge centre,<br />

it will work globally with cultural agencies<br />

and accredited centres of learning on:<br />

• the archiving of digitized and analogue<br />

documentation on currently endangered<br />

silk-weaving techniques for “the nextgeneration”<br />

• collaborations with museums<br />

• artist/master-in-residence<br />
