The Grey Power Federation

Porter has joined the team
as editor of the Federation’s
quarterly magazine.
David takes over formally
this issue from Lisa
Potter, who has done an
excellent job for the magazine,
but is now forced
through recent ill health
issues to focus on other
commitments.
He has many decades
experience in reporting,
editing and communications,
and is currently also
editor of the monthly Bay
of Plenty Business News.
A fifth generation Kiwi,
David spent more than 20
years working overseas
before relocating with
his family to the Bay of
Plenty a decade ago for

He was first posted
to Asia in the 1980s as
the New Zealand Press
Association’s Asia Staff
Ccorrespondent based in
Hong Kong. Subsequently
he joined the editing
staff of Asia’s then leading
regional newsweekly the
Far Eastern Economic Review.
He was later Managing
Editor of a HK weekly
political magazine, and
then of the region’s leading
private equity publisher
and events company.
David says he is delighted
to be working with
Grey Power on its quarterly
magazine.
“I’m in Grey Power’s
demographic and have
personal experience of
the physical and financial
challenges that come with
aging,” he says.
“Getting older has also
been in many ways the
most rewarding period
of my life. I’m looking
forward to sharing in the
journey of Grey Power
Magazine readers.”
