Wat Chedi Liam or Ku Kham Temple is located next to Koh Klang road,Chiang Mai.<br />

Chiangmai Province was built in 1831. In the King Meng Rai the great's era. 5 years later<br />

after his majesty attacked Lamphun, he decided to move to the northeast. In 1820, the<br />

army came to build a new city along the side of the Ping River and named the city<br />

"Wiang Kum Kam". Later, in 1830, his highness allowed the local expert to take pictures<br />

of the pagoda at Wat Cham <strong>The</strong>wi, Lamphun, as a model for worshiping. <strong>The</strong> expert<br />

built a new pagoda with a base width of 8 meters, 1 cubit and 22 meters high at Wiang<br />

Khum Kam. Years later, the temple was abandoned and desolate for hundreds years.<br />

In 1908, a wealthy man from Burma came to see and truly believe in history of the<br />

temple, so he tried to restore the pagoda, using architecture from Myanmar.<br />

<strong>The</strong>refore, the pagoda has Burmese architecture style, instead of Khmer art.
