BAAN TAWAI Baan Tawai is 300 years old village. In Chamadevi monarch, she was travelling with wagons from Lamphun and need to pass village, in order to travel to build the Lavo Temple. As queen chamadevi traveeled through the village, the villagers met up and to bring fruit and other valuable presents to show respect and sacrifice for her, therefore making this village known as "Baan Tawaii" or "Village of given".
<strong>The</strong> village is very famous in wood crafting. In 2004, the government promoted Baan Tawaii as artisans village.
