During the AG&M symposium “Complex Genetics of Metabolic Disease” on Friday<br />
March 15 th 2019, the battle for best AG&M publication <strong>2018</strong> took place. Five<br />
nominees, Arwen Gao, Lowiek Hubers, Sophie Lodestijn, Sofia El Manouni El Hassani<br />
(for Daan Berkhout) and Ivo Hansen pitched their publication in 5 minutes each.<br />

The audience voted, with a tie, for Sophie Lodestijn<br />
and Arwen Gao as winners of the battle with their<br />
publications entitled “Stem cell functionality is<br />
microenvironmentally defined during tumour expansion<br />
and therapy response in colon cancer” and “Natural<br />
genetic variation in C. elegans identified genomic loci<br />
controlling metabolite levels”, respectively.<br />
