Making Right Choices<br />

Students will learn to respectfully interact with peers and<br />

adults, introduce themselves, take care of their belongings,<br />

help at home and practice dining skills through role-playing<br />

games and questions/answers from real life situations. At<br />

the end of the session, children will be invited to a “Play<br />

Restaurant” where they will be served by their peers. Materials<br />

included. No class on 10/31.<br />

PROBLEM SOLVING CHALLENGE<br />

How do we teach kids to solve problems independently? Problem<br />

Solving Challenge is a comprehensive program designed to help<br />

kids grow their mind and develop logical thinking, persistence<br />

and creative skills. This program includes timed hands-on STEAM<br />

challenges which groups have to solve on the spot. Students will<br />

build structures using simple materials, create improv skits and<br />

solve “life puzzles,” as well as learn to create strategies, lead their<br />

team, make decisions and overcome barriers.<br />

SAFE@HOME<br />

Safe Sitter’s Safe@Home program provides important safety<br />

training that will help participants to prepare to stay home<br />

alone. Parents, it will be up to you to decide if your child<br />

is ready to stay home alone based on their age, maturity,<br />

skills, experience and confidence level of your child. Students<br />

will learn how to practice safe habits and handle common<br />

household emergencies. Participants will leave with a student<br />

booklet to help guide them at home.<br />

TWEENS & TEENS<br />

SAFE SITTER® ESSENTIALS WITH CPR<br />

Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized, medically-accurate<br />

program designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be<br />

safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or<br />

babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills, such as how to<br />

rescue someone who is choking and helpful information like<br />

what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled<br />

with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even<br />

get to use CPR manikins to practice CPR and choking rescues!<br />

Parents, join us for a brief graduation ceremony at 3:15 p.m.<br />

Students must bring a non-refrigerated lunch.<br />
