Increase the promotion of blue space provision and<br />

water based activities<br />

Promote the use of green spaces as a prevention and pathway to recovery from physical<br />

and mental health, for example, the Future Foyle Project.<br />

Calculate the number of people utilising green spaces for<br />

recreational purposes from user surveys<br />

Provide high quality multi-functional green & blue spaces.<br />

Develop quality play provision<br />

Develop an active & sustainable transport network<br />

Potential Actions<br />

Retain <strong>Green</strong> Flag status at Brooke Park and extend to St Columbs Park<br />

Support Donegal County Council in delivering the EU Riverine Project, including a new regional<br />

park facility for the towns of Strabane, Lifford and surrounding areas<br />

Develop a Play <strong>Plan</strong>, to review the existing play provision and agree the future management,<br />

maintenance and development of play provision throughout the District<br />

Deliver the EU Interreg cross border greenway project, connecting the<br />

district with Muff, Buncrana and Lifford<br />

Work with Translink to deliver the NW multimodal transport hub, incorporating a new railway<br />

station, active travel centre and integrated connectivity to local city and regional transport<br />

services and the greenway network.<br />

Extend the Waterside <strong>Green</strong>way to Strathfoyle<br />
