HAPPINESS FARMS, INC. is pleased to announce that our office manager<br />
Danielle Daum has earned coveted honors presented by the Highlands News-<br />
Sun for Women in Business <strong>2019</strong>, in conjunction with International Women in<br />
Business week, September 22-28 th , <strong>2019</strong>.<br />
So much more than just an office manager, Daum, whose special education degree is now used<br />
to educate and advocate for all Florida agriculture, not just the caladiums and citrus her family<br />
has grown in the Lake Placid area for 4 generations. She is also co-founder of Highlands<br />
County Ag-Venture, Inc. and actively seeks educational experiences for Florida Ag in the<br />
Classroom as an active part of their advisory board. She has served as the secretary for<br />
Highlands County Cattlewomen and is board member and vice-chair of Florida’s Farm Bureau.<br />
On her trips to the nation’s capital she advocates for family farmers all over Florida for hurricane<br />
recovery and other support.<br />
Combining desk work with farm work is not easy but Daum juggles wholesalers, employees,<br />
government officials, volunteers, vendors, classroom children and her own family with aplomb.<br />
Those who work with Daum in all of her roles agree that it would be hard to find a women who<br />
works at all levels of Florida Ag and manages to balance a focus on the sustainability of Florida<br />
family farming, as well as her own family caladium business with professionalism, humor and<br />
complete dedication to all her many responsibilities.<br />

Daum has a degree in elementary and special<br />
education. However, her classrooms are the caladium<br />
fields as she teaches her staff about the business.<br />
Daum’s passion for agriculture goes much further<br />
than the office. She is a co-founder Highlands County<br />
Ag-Venture, Inc. and has been the co-chairman for<br />
20 years. Daum finds curriculum and speakers for<br />
Ag in the Classroom and Ag-Literacy Day. She has<br />

Advisory Board and is secretary of the Highlands<br />
County Cattlewomen for over 20 years. Daum is the<br />
vice chairman of Florida’s Farm Bureau and a member<br />
of the organization’s board of directors. She has also<br />
served on the Children’s Services Council.<br />
