<strong>Liam</strong> <strong>Cartwright</strong> was born in Worcestershire and was educ<strong>at</strong>ed in Malvern.<br />

During this time, he studied Piano with Jill Polyblank and <strong>Organ</strong> with Trevor<br />

Tipple, and was named Worcestershire Young Musician of the Year in 2000.<br />

<strong>Liam</strong> subsequently undertook undergradu<strong>at</strong>e and postgradu<strong>at</strong>e studies in<br />

organ performance <strong>at</strong> the Royal College of Music, where his teachers included<br />

Margaret Phillips and David Graham, as well as Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-<br />

Choplin in London and Paris. He held the organ scholarship <strong>at</strong> Farm Street<br />

Church in Mayfair, and continued Piano studies with K<strong>at</strong>hron Sturrock and<br />

Harpsichord studies with Robert Woolley.<br />

<strong>Liam</strong> has subsequently pursued a career as a solo performer, educ<strong>at</strong>or, choral<br />

conductor and church musician. As a recitalist he has recently performed <strong>at</strong><br />

Southwark and Truro C<strong>at</strong>hedrals, and in 2009 gave a recital on the newly<br />

refurbished Grand <strong>Organ</strong> in St. Paul’s C<strong>at</strong>hedral. He has appeared <strong>at</strong> the Three<br />

Choirs and Edinburgh Festivals, and future engagements include recitals <strong>at</strong><br />

Leicester, Chester, Blackburn and Coventry C<strong>at</strong>hedrals, Blenheim Palace, and<br />

in the City of London.<br />

Since 2011, <strong>Liam</strong> has held the post of Director of Music <strong>at</strong> All Saints’ Parish<br />

Church, High Wycombe, in the Diocese of Oxford, where his duties centre<br />

around the weekly singing of the liturgy, as well as overseeing the music for<br />

the various Civic and Diocesan services and events which take place <strong>at</strong> this<br />

busy town centre church. Under <strong>Liam</strong>’s direction, the choir of All Saints’ have<br />

undertaken residencies <strong>at</strong> St. Albans, Southwark and Rochester C<strong>at</strong>hedrals,<br />

have appeared on the BBC television show Strictly Come Dancing.<br />
