Change is constant
Dear Editor,
Yes, there are folks who don’t
want to change.
Change can cause stress, and
many folks don’t like to deal
with stressful situations. But
change forces us to re-think (to
think “outside the box”).
For example, the Catholic
Church opposed for centuries
the “theory” that the sun was
the centre of the universe.
The Industrial Revolution of
the 17th century ushered in a
massive change in the way
society operated but many
people were opposed to it.
They were called Luddites.
Today, we have folks who
want to keep things as they are
but that is not reality.
Change is constant.
Where water was once the
main source of power for many
things, it was replaced by coal
(steam power).
The horse and buggy was
replaced by the automobile. It’s
just a passing fancy; horsepower
will always be king.
The assembly line ushered in
a new way of producing
products.
Planes and aircraft carriers
would “never” replace
battleships.
Will freeze in the dark
California also burns more fossil fuel stoppage of fossil fuel around the world
per day than all of Canada.
will result in billions of deaths to starvation,
over heating, no power for air
The climate change debate reminds
me of the witch hunts of early
conditioning, (eg. California) and
American history where no one would freezing in Canada and Russia.
Outlawed and dismantled
Cont’d from Pg 6
Criminal gangs should be outlawed
and dismantled and anyone found to
be involved with a gang should be
arrested and locked up without bail
until the trial.
I know this would sound radical and
to liberals, it is because they believe in
coddling criminals, however, anything
short of this will not put a stop to
this activity.
There, of course, would be a hue and
cry about infringing on their charter
of rights and that it would be inhumane
treatment and all the rest of that
sort of thing.
Well, what about the charter rights
of innocent victims?
The courts have screwed up this
charter to the point where it is only of
a benefit to criminals and special
interest groups.
It seems to totally ignore the rights
of ordinary citizens. In my mind when
the action of a criminal tramp on the
rights of a law-abiding citizen, the
criminal should no longer be protected
by the charter.
The way it seems to work now is that
the rights of the perpetrator take precedence
over that of the victim.
Trudeau’s gun
control solution
is simplistic.
If he wants to
get rid of gun violence
on the
street he has to
get rid of the
gangs and that
would require
laws with real
teeth.
He hasn’t the
guts to do it and
while Harper did
put in tougher laws they did not go
anywhere near far enough to solve the
problem either.
