Adelaide Central Market Excursion<br />
Students have been learning about<br />
geographies of interconnections and<br />
cultural tourism. Cultural tourism is<br />
concerned with the way of life of people<br />
in a geographical region. It is linked to their<br />
food, values, culture and history. Students<br />
have explored the geographical concept of<br />
interconnection by investigating the history<br />
and evolution of Adelaide Central Market,<br />
describing the change that<br />

has occurred<br />

to the place since its establishment in 1869<br />
and critically discussing the role of Central<br />
Market in interconnecting different people<br />
and places.<br />
<strong>The</strong> class took part in a Field Work exercise<br />
with a tour of Adelaide Central Market<br />
conducted by Cheryl Turner, Manager<br />
of ACM tours. During this tour, students<br />
were required to record and evaluate the<br />
evolution of Adelaide Central Market to<br />
describe the relation between geographies<br />
of interconnections and cultural tourism.<br />
