Forest View Farms offers horseback riding for the holidays<br />
For more than 50 years, Forest<br />
View Farms has welcomed<br />
horse-lovers of all ages, whether<br />
they have been riding all of their<br />
lives or want to enjoy their first<br />
rides.<br />
Forest View Farms in Tinley<br />
Park abuts the Cook County Forest<br />
Preserves — a beautiful piece<br />
of land that begs to be seen. The<br />
farms invite people to enjoy time<br />
away from life’s stresses and<br />
spend time relaxing by meandering<br />
through the beautiful forest<br />
trails.<br />
Riders are paired with a horse<br />
at the rider’s skill level, so new<br />
riders do not feel overwhelmed<br />
while sleigh rides, hayrides or<br />
other horse-drawn vehicles are<br />
piloted by one of the farms’ accomplished<br />
workers.<br />
Trail rides begin on the Forest<br />
View Farms property and take<br />
adjacent trails through the Cook<br />
County Forest Preserves. Trail<br />
rides are offered year-round, and<br />
offered for both private, reserved<br />
rides and non reserved walk-in<br />
customers. Trail riders need to<br />
be at least 9 years of age, with a<br />
250-pound weight limit.<br />
Children younger than 9 who<br />
want to ride also can enjoy pony<br />
rides, which are offered yearround<br />
and are great for smaller<br />
children. Children learn to be<br />
comfortable around horses during<br />
their controlled trail ride<br />
around the Forest View Farms<br />
property. All ponies are hand-led<br />
by a parent or adult.<br />
Forest View Farms offer riding<br />
lessons for new and advanced<br />
riders, young and old. For those<br />
who have always wanted to try<br />
horseback riding, there are classes<br />
for people of all ages, from 3<br />
years and older. Toddlers can become<br />
comfortable around horses<br />
or ponies with mommy and me<br />
classes, and older children can<br />
start learning riding basics, with<br />
lessons tailored to their ages and<br />
levels of comfort.<br />
For adults who have never<br />
had the chance to try horseback<br />
riding, Forest Views Farms has<br />
both group and private lessons,<br />
so people can try it out with their<br />
friends or on their own. Forest<br />
View Farms also offers driving<br />
lessons for those who do not<br />
drive.<br />
Forest View Farms offers everything<br />
one needs for a successful,<br />
memorable party. Parties can<br />
be built to accommodate everything<br />
from trail rides, pony rentals,<br />
hayrides, ride wagons, covered<br />
wagons, carriages and stage<br />
coach to petting farm animals.<br />

are available as party favors.<br />
The farms have outdoor party<br />
pavilions available and heated<br />
party barn for fall, winter and<br />

to join for a week of horsey<br />
fun at the horse camp, which is<br />
a great way to learn about horses<br />
and other farm animals. During<br />
the week at camp, campers will<br />
learn to brush, saddle and ride<br />
horses. Campers also will adopt<br />
one farm animal and take care<br />
of it for the week. Campers also<br />
will have riding lessons and go<br />
on trail rides daily.<br />

types of horse-related activities<br />
throughout the week.<br />

season is here, while winter is<br />
