Beach, you won’t find another<br />
business quite like that<br />
owned by Michael Dacher.<br />
Located in the heart of Delray Beach, is the fabulously named<br />
Guitar Hospital. You will be greeted by April, the resident<br />
Dachshund and then Michael who prides himself on offering<br />
you the best service available locally where he cares and repairs<br />
your stringed babies!<br />
To give you a little bit of background on Michael, he started<br />
back in 1972 at The Guitar Shop on Griffin Road and I-95 in Dania.<br />
It was a retail and repair shop and the first small shop to carry the<br />
Ibanez guitars.<br />
From 1972 to 1980, Michael tenured with master luthier G.L.<br />
Stiles in Hialeah, FL and Gibson’s warranty service station under<br />
Dell Staton in West Hollywood, FL. During those years Dell Staton<br />
took him in as a student, apprentice, and treated him like a son, and<br />
sent him to sabbatical at the original Gibson Kalamazoo Factory.<br />

recalls. As Michael progressed in his apprenticeship, Dell Staton got<br />
him into BJC to get an A.A. in Music and then on to University of<br />
Miami School of Music Summer Program. For a brief time, he was at<br />
Delray Music at I-95 and Linton but when they were contacted by<br />
Guitar Center and offered an exclusive kiosk within their store, they<br />
closed the Delray location. After six successful years they are back<br />
in Delray Beach at a new location.<br />
The new shop is small, intimate and on-hand purely to accommodate<br />
the needs and desires of guitar owners, players, collectors,<br />
hobbyists and professionals - concentrating exclusively on guitar<br />
repair, upgrades and restoration of damaged guitars.<br />
From re-strings to re-frets, and pickup replacement to body and<br />
neck repairs, they have the tools, knowledge and skills to get your<br />
guitar playing back to the best possible playing condition. Certified<br />
warranty work is available for Gibson, Epiphone, Taylor Guitars,<br />
Ovation, Michael Kelly, Dean, and B.C. Rich.<br />
