On January 1st, 2020 BAMIL released his
11th studio album titled ‘Doors’. This album
features 11 original tracks like he always
does. Some of the tracks are; ‘Look Into
Your Heart’, ‘Do You Forget About Me’,
‘Inferno’, ‘Gates Of Glory’ and ‘The Colors
Of The World’, but the lead single ‘The
Loneliest Road (The Thompson And
Fernadez Story)’ is the one that have start
the album journey. This album was Written,
Arranged, Engineered and Produced by
BAMIL. The title concept was created by
BAMIL’s wife Nancy Rosario as well as all
the photos. The songs on the album comes
with variety of subjects that comes from
love, historical facts, social and universal
matters. ‘Doors’ was recorded while the
album ‘10’ was in promo, but as usual
BAMIL doesn’t like to repeat subjects in his
songs so all tracks are completely different,
but keeping the ambience and style that
has made BAMIL unique, ‘Doors’ has been
recorded in BAMIL’s own Cave Wolf
Recording Studio and under his own record
label 273 NOTERCORDS.
Why this album is titled ‘Doors’?
The original idea of the title was from my
wife Nancy, who approached to me with
this idea. After 10 solo studio albums many
entrances has been made and passing
through a Door is the real meaning of what
our journey has been in this musical life. It
seems to me that ‘Doors’ was an appropiate
one. All the songs in the album has an itself
touch of what’s life has to be shown once
you pass the ‘Doors’ of time.
How I Came Up With ‘The Loneliest Road
(The Thompson And Fernandez Story)?
I always wanted to write something
similar to the Stephen J. Cannell and
Lorenzo Lamas ‘Renegade’ TV Series
soundtrack, not the same, but at least that
sound so ‘Outlaw’, ‘Desertic’ and with an
‘Harmonica’ ambience’. I was listening
to some Johnny Cash tracks and I wanted
something that could tells a story and i was
reading that same week an article about
the Nevada’s Loneliest Road (Route 50) and
when i finished reading the article I came up
with some facts which are very marked in
the song. Also the names of Thompson and
Fernandez were the names of one TV series
i was watching at the moment titled ‘The
Baron (El Baron)’ Nacho Montero which his
name is mentioned in the song too.
Thompson and Fernandez were two
detectives in the series working on some
narcotraffic case from the Medellin Cartel. I
needed two characters to ride the long road
and in the series they were riding
Harley Davidsons, so I mixed all the
elements and that’s when ‘The Loneliest
Road (The Thompson and Fernandez Story)’
came to be the lead single of ‘Doors’.
