President’s Message
Welcome to the Home Builder’s Association
of Greater Springfield! Our local HBA is
excited to provide you with the opportunity
to visit with builders, remodelers, suppliers and
subcontractors in January at our annual HBA Home
Show and in June at our annual HBA Parade of Homes.
The HBA is a one-stop shop where you can research high
quality builders, remodelers, suppliers, subcontractors and other
companies associated with the construction industry. For 66
years, the HBA of Greater Springfield has been a consistent
advocate for the Springfield area residential building industry by
providing educational opportunities to our members, maintaining
relationships with local and national organizations that focus
on housing affordability, and promoting the American dream of
home ownership.
Why Should You Hire an HBA Professional?
Your home is one of your single largest investments. A
trusted professional is what you need and the HBA has those
professionals!
The HBA has stringent insurance requirements for our
Builders and Remodelers. Our construction professionals carry
both General Liability and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
What does that mean for you, the consumer? Peace of mind,
knowing that your building professional is properly insured
and that your investment is safe. There are many examples
of workplace injuries and claims that have fallen back to
the homeowner because of the failure to hire an “Insured
Professional.” Don’t be that homeowner!
Our members have great educational opportunities because
of their membership. We pride ourselves on offering a wide
variety of classes that include topics such as code compliance,
building materials, best business practices, customer service,
energy efficiency, plus many more.
We are vested in keeping homes affordable. We work at
the local, state and national levels to insure that governmental
decisions do not stand in your way of home ownership. We
also work to improve building codes and processes.
Our members are actively engaged in “giving back” to the
community through charitable projects and donations.
As we start a new decade, the housing market continues to be
strong both locally and nationally. It’s a proven fact that the housing
industry drives the economy by providing jobs, growth and
advancement of all economic sectors. However, the construction
industry faces several challenges with labor shortages, increased
regulations, tariffs and the lack of development land. Your HBA
continues to fight for you and be a local resource that can assist
you in finding quality contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to
help with your every home need and want.
Get to Know Us!
I encourage you to take the opportunity to get to know our
members. There are many ways to find the professional who is
right for you. Attend the Home Show and the Parade of Homes
to visit one-on-one with HBA member professionals. You can also
visit our NEW website at HBASpringfield.com or go directly to
our online membership directory – HBAHomePros.com to find
valuable information regarding the construction industry and
local pros that can help you no matter what size your next project
might be.
Sincerely,
Travis Miller, CGP
