When is 3 in 3 calculated?
Per PNEA contract, 3 in 3 starts resets September 1 and calculates for a three year cycle.
Because of our Year 7, we have a unique calculation year.
In practical terms, you are required to have earned three credits at these times:
Years 1-3 (due the beginning of Year 4)
Years 4-6 (the beginning of Year 7)
Year 7+CT cycle (the beginning of Year 11)
CT1 (after each CT cycle for career)
An example :
10-11 year 1 Hired in parkway (previous years experience do not matter for this calculation)
11-12 year 2
12-13 year 3 (3 in 3 due Sept 1 after Year 3, beginning of year 4)
13-14 year 4
14-15 year 5
15-16 year 6 (3 in 3 due Sept 1 after Year 6, beginning of year 7)
16-17 year 7
17-18 CT1
18-19 CT2
.
still influenced by digital media. Because digital media is so influential, even when we’re not online, we’re all digital citizens; as
students become dependent on teachers for everything including how to behave in a classroom and what practices promote and
teach independence. In this course, participants will learn how to build the conditions of a culturally responsive classroom and how
to deliver strategies and resources to teach dependent learners. They will also learn the most current brain research and what
Description: Addition fluency doesn’t just happen! According to mathematician and author of Fluency Doesn’t Just Happen,
Dr. Nikki Newton, fluency is like a four-legged stool. The four legs are accuracy, flexibility, efficiency, and automaticity. You
can imagine what happens if one or more legs of the stool is missing! In this online class, we will explore how students work
concretely, pictorially, and finally abstractly to build their addition fluency. Additionally, you will write practice story problems
and anchor charts. You will also have the opportunity to build a math toolkit for yourself, as well as creating toolkits for your
students. Finally, you will build your fluency math workshop activities based on concrete, pictorial, and abstract activities.
Course Name: We Got This-CREDIT ONLY-PARTICIPANTS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING MATERIALS
Dates: Feb 3, 2020 N/A
Instructor: BETH EDELMANN
Location: Online
Description: In We Got This Cornelius Minor describes how he realized that listening to children is one of the most powerful
things a teacher can do. By listening carefully, Cornelius discovered something that kids find themselves having to communicate
far too often. That “my lessons were not, at all, linked to that student’s reality.” While challenging the teacher as hero trope, We
Got This shows how authentically listening to kids is the closest thing to a superpower that we have. What we hear can spark
action that allows us to make powerful moves toward equity by broadening access to learning for all children. A lone teacher
can’t eliminate inequity, but Cornelius demonstrates that a lone teacher can confront the scholastic manifestations of racism,
sexism, ableism and classism by showing: exactly how he plans and revises lessons to ensure access and equity ways to look
anew at explicit and tacit rules that consistently affect groups of students unequally suggestions for leaning into classroom
community when it feels like the kids are against you ideas for using universal design that make curriculum relevant and
accessible advocacy strategies for making classroom and schoolwide changes that expand access to opportunity to your students
“We cannot guarantee outcomes, but we can guarantee access” Cornelius writes. “We can ensure that everyone gets a shot. In
this book we get to do that. Together. Consider this book a manual for how to begin that brilliantly messy work. We got this.”
