The Year of Song
Join us for a romantic day of lieder in the company
of Robert and Clara Schumann, and their friend and
protégé Johannes Brahms. Robert finally married Clara
in 1840; in this year, which became known as his ‘year
of song’, he poured his feelings into the four great song
cycles included in these concerts. These outstanding
young singers bring fresh energy to this intimate and
personal repertoire.
