Connecting Through Singing

Cuppa & A Chorus offers an

opportunity to sing in a relaxed

environment and enjoy a cup

of tea, a piece of cake and a

friendly chat! Led by experienced

community musician Chris

Bartram, sessions will give you

the chance to sing some of the

songs you know and love and

explore new ones from around

the world. You don’t need to

have sung before or consider

yourself musical, just enjoy

taking part and singing with other

likeminded people. With up to 50

singers attending each session,

participants feel uplifted by the

beautiful sounds produced in

only one session and often feel

the benefit thereafter.

Participants commented “Lovely

group thank you - good tonic at a

time that is not so bright”

Broadening Horizons

A Song for Health

In 2019 The World Health

Organisation published a report

about the health benefits of

the arts. Their conclusion was

‘The arts are good for you’.

Join community musician

Chris Bartram and Dr Nicola

Gill to discover more about

this research and how the arts

can improve your health and

wellbeing. Hear Nicola outline

the evidence and experience

the benefits for yourself in an

informal, relaxing singing session

led by Chris. This session is open

to everyone; you don’t need to

be able to sing, consider yourself

musical, or have an interest in

the arts. We just ask that you are

curious to broaden your horizons

and find out more.

Earlier in the day, NCEM is

hosting a session specifically

for artists working within the

health and well-being sector,

focusing on how they can

maintain a healthy work life

balance when helping others

through the arts.
