Teen Advisory Board

2nd Monday of the month

We always need teens (6th-12th graders)

willing to share ideas and suggestions on how

to make the library and our community a

better place. Hang out with other teens and

share your unique thoughts and abilities to

make a difference. Add terrific community

service experience to your resume or college

application too!

Sew Cool!

Thursday, Jan 9 & Jan 16

Want to learn how to sew? Join us for this two

part class and learn to make a book bag. In Part

1, you will learn how to use a sewing pattern, pin

it to fabric and cut out the pieces. In Part 2, you

will be using a sewing machine to assemble your

book bag and then sew on buttons and other

embellishments to personalize your creation.

Nailed It: Recreate a Cookie Masterpiece

Thursday, Feb 6

Want to try to decorate a cookie like a pro? Join us as we try

to replicate an expert cookie design from local bakers Mike

and Keri Harness of 828 Bakes. Learn how to pipe frosting as

well as the basics of delicious designs. We supply the cookies

and sweet things, you supply the skills. Can you nail it?

Everyday First Aid

Thursday, Feb 27

6pm

Learn how to handle everyday situations and

know when to call 911, presented by the

Poquoson Fire Department. We’ll talk about

treating cuts, burns, sprains, nosebleeds and

other situations you may find yourself in.

(Please note this is not a Red Cross Certified

class)

Teens Give Back

Month of February

Join the Library’s Teen Advisory Board as they

collect school supplies to help replenish local

classrooms. The collection will take place during

the month of February. Items needed include

tissues, paper, pencils, glue sticks, crayons and

other school supplies. Please drop off donations at

the library to help support our community

Teen programs are open to 6th - 12th graders
