Fairies & Friends Day

at the Poquoson Museum Learning Garden

10am-1pm

Legend has it that fairies were a blessing to the crops for an abundant growing season.

Let’s fill the garden with the fairies and help our garden grow! The friends of the

garden include the pollinators, too. Learn about their importance to the garden as we

explore a variety of crafts and garden fun.

Enjoy magical garden activities, face-painting, fairy fun with wand

making & crafts, and fairy learning activities in partnership with the

Virginia Cooperative Extension York-Poquoson Master Gardeners, the

City of Poquoson Community Recreation Office, & Poquoson Public

Library. All activities free! Children & their families ages

10 & under. Wear your wings & costumes. Free.

Celebrate the 50 th Anniversary of Earth Day in Poquoson

City wide events will include

environmental activities in our parks, &

at Poquoson Public Library including

educational & entertainment for

kids & families.

Earth Day Youth Poster Contest- Call for Entries

hosted by Office of Community Recreation

To enter, design your poster to fit your style & express your thoughts,

ideas, or feelings about our planet, the environment, conservation,

or anything else Earth Day makes you feel passionate about in your community.

Once your design is complete drop off your poster to

The Poquoson Library or Poquoson Community Recreation.

Entries due April 20th or before. Winners announced at the Earth

Day Art Show at the Poquoson Library. All entries must be at least 11” x 17”

and have students name, age and grade. Prizes will be awarded. Categories

will be grades grouped K-2; 3-5; 6-8; and 8-12th. For more information: 868-3580.

Litter Clean Up Kits are available for

check-out at Poquoson Public Library.
