Mark your Calendars for 2020 4-H Junior Summer Camp

4-H Junior Summer Camp for York County and Poquoson residents will take place

August 3 – 7, 2020 at the Jamestown 4-H Center in Williamsburg. Registration for campers

will open Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 9am. 4-H Junior Camp is a week-long, residential

camp for youth ages 9-13. Visit our website at http://www.yorkcounty.gov/vce to sign up for

our email list to receive information regarding camp and other 4-H programs.

2020 Horticultural Extravaganza

Come join us on Saturday, March 7, 2020 and hear keynote speaker, Joseph Tychonievich,

author and plant breeder. This event will be held at Tabb High School from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45

p.m. and will provide a broad amount of information for new and more experienced gardeners,

including specialty plants, healthy lawns, pollinators, pruning and more! Registration begins

December 16 th . The cost (which includes lunch) is $20 if received by February 1 st and $25

after that date with a registration deadline of February 14 th . Visit https://york.ext.vt.edu for

Free Pruning Clinics

February is the time to prune ornamental plants. Our clinics teach you the healthiest way to prune your much loved plants

to promote vigor and wanted growth. Clinics will be held on Saturday’s in February (dates and locations to be determined)

from 10am-12pm. More information will be posted on our website as it becomes available. http://www.yorkcounty.gov/vce

Healthy Virginia Lawns Program

Sign-up now for our Spring Healthy Virginia Lawns program with visits beginning in March! This program is designed to

assist York County and Poquoson residents with taking care of their lawn in an economic and environmentally sound

manner. For $20, York/Poquoson Master Gardeners will visit your site, measure your yard, take a soil sample, and provide

customized feedback. If you would like to register for this program, call the Extension office at 757-890-4940 or register

Peninsula Master Naturalist Basic Training

Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2020 training. For more information
