DANIEL HARPER

MEMORIAL GARDEN

The completion of the student center

necessitated the relocation of the Daniel

Harper Memorial Garden. Daniel, a graduate of the class of

2004, lost his battle with a malignant brain tumor back in the

summer of 2011. Over the course of 16 months, he maintained

a blog, sharing inspiration while on the journey through his illness.

The blog excerpts were published into a book titled, Daniel’s

Blog. Daniel is remembered for his love of board sports and was

an avid snowboarder. Joe Hartsock, ’04, installed the original

garden. Seth Sheldon, ’05, drove a ski lift chair from Vail,

CO to Calhoun. The lift chair has

been moved to the new garden

location, for all to enjoy as they sit

and reflect. The garden is now located

outside the Goodman Family

Prayer Room.
