Parbold Heritage Week<br />
Parbold Library is holding a special heritage event<br />
from Tuesday, <strong>March</strong> 10 until Saturday, <strong>March</strong> 14.<br />
An exhibition of old photographs of Parbold will<br />
be on display in the library throughout the week,<br />
with plenty of other special events lined up. On the<br />
Tuesday, artist in residence Peter Bourne will discuss<br />
Parbold Through the Ages, and Paul Mackenzie will<br />
lead visitors in some historic railway songs. You’ll<br />
also have the opportunity to try your hand at rag<br />
rugging.<br />
Wednesday 11th will welcome Carole Wareing<br />
from the Wool Boat for some canal-themed crafts,<br />
and visitors can see some local videos from along<br />
the waterway. Then, on Thursday at 1:30pm Martin<br />
Jones presents his talk ‘The Man Who Shod<br />
War Horses’, with coffee and cakes available<br />
at 2pm.<br />
Finally, Friday sees local historian Judith<br />
Dawber lead a Parbold Q&A with a<br />
slideshow at 2pm, before the Newburgh<br />
Morris Dancers display their skills on<br />
Saturday at 10am.<br />
The week promises to be a thorough<br />
exploration into the village’s history – go<br />
along to the library to celebrate all things<br />
Parbold!<br />
